Why test for Lyme if tests can show up negative?

I'm sorry for such a basic question, but I really don't understand.

Why test for Lyme if the tests can show up with false negatives? Do you have to

keep re-testing?

Let me add that I am not a skeptic about this at all. It makes sense to me and

seems to be the piece of the puzzle that we were missing.

Why not just treat " as if " there is a positive (using natural antivirals and

antibacterials) without the test?
