Guest guest
Milk Thistle was recommended for my daughter to help her liver regenerate injured cells, in helping the bowel stay normal, and heightening the immune system. Milk Thistle increases SOD, which in my daughter's condition, is already overproduced. Is there any other supplement that will help with liver function in the ways that milk thistle does? Guest guest
Hi , What is SOD??? Dandelion Root helps the liver. Dandelion Leaf helps the kidneys. I read about these supplements on one of Dr. Amy Yasko's Web sites. www.autismanswer.com www.holistichealth.com www.holisticheal.com Gaia herbs and Nature's Answer have alcohol-free tinctures of dandelion root. www.gaiaherbs.com www.naturesanswer.com We are using organic dandelion root and leaf (veggie caps) from the Eclectic Institute (this is the brand Dr. Yasko recommends). www.eclecticherb.com I found the best prices at: www.iherb.com At 10:48 AM 5/16/2005 -0700, you wrote: >Milk Thistle was recommended for my daughter to help her liver regenerate >injured cells, in helping the bowel stay normal, and heightening the >immune system. > >Milk Thistle increases SOD, which in my daughter's condition, is already >overproduced. > >Is there any other supplement that will help with liver function in the >ways that milk thistle does? > >THank you > > Strobel > > > >--------------------------------- >Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi All, Can anyone recommend the general dosage and brand for Milk thistle? It is more effective when taken empty stomach or with meals? I have started Diflucan and he is already on Antibiotics for Babesia, so I wanted to increase both stomach(probiotics) and liver support(Milk thistle). Anymore suggestion for any diff. types of liver and stomach support? Much appreciated, Sasmita
Guest guest
Sasmita, My son takes LVR from PURE encapsulations and I like it very much. As my doctor explained it to me, it has herbs that not only stimulate bile production but also widen/open "pathways" for bile to come out of galbladder. Sorry, if my explanation is confusing, my doctor is Russian, so I am trying to translate without being sure about exact wording for this. Here you coudl read about it and buy: http://theapexstore.com/item.asp?PID=1124 and http://www.pureprescriptions.com/products/product_details.asp?ProductsID=170# I rotate it for my son monthly with PhosChol from Nutrasal http://www.phoschol.com/about_phoschol/. I know some people don't like using PhosChol, because it's made of soy, but it's actually cleaned and doesn't have the soy protein anymore, and protein is something that causes problems, usually. I give LVR 15 minutes before meals 2 times a day, and PhosChol (liquid) - 1/4 tsp at the end of the meal. It tastes bad and is very dense so I mix it with honey. But my son is very good in taking anything I give to him, if I say it has to be done. Hope it helps, Dina.
