Guest guest
Hey , Saw my Rheumy today, we dicussed at length about shaking hands. She talked with Dr. Cush in Dallas, TX, he has written a few articles about Still's and has done some research with Still's. He said that he has noticed more and more diagnosis of Essential Tremors in Still's patients. Over 50% present with the problem before they have ever been on any type of medication. He did say that steroids can cause the shaking but it is different from a Essential Tremors. With Essential Tremors they are rhythmic in nature, like Parkinson's disease and with steroids they are not and come and go with increases and decreases of the steroids and often the shaking actually may be due to the fact that you can have blood sugar related issues with the steroids, usually when your blood sugar bottoms out. Dr. Cush said that Essential Tremors are being looked at as another symptom to be added to the Still's list. He had also told my Doc that he may be going to do a study on tremors and would let her know to see if any of her Still's patients would be interested. I will let you know if he does, should be interesting to see what they find. Hope that helps some, that it may not be related to something else, that it is Still's related.
