Guest guest
I'm glad you feel you found a good doctor, but I would really question his comments that he didn't want his patients " bothering " his staff with questions about their meds. As his patient, you should be able to contact his office with ANY concerns you have...it's kinda what you PAY him for! Since you have Hep-C, and are hepatically compromised, and he gave you a drug that could cause potential problems...I'm assuming he KNEW you had Hepatitis...I would say you have every right to call his office with your concerns. I would say that if your doc has issues with you calling about something that serious, then you really do need to find another doc. I'd be very concerned about the fact that he prescribed you a drug that is contra-indicated in the first place! I know that docs aren't perfect, and use many drugs, so they can't know every single side effect or contradiction, but when they are dealing with patients who have special needs, such as yourself, they need to proceed with special care, and look up these drugs if need be. You're at the point where being compliant could harm your life. I would rather risk making the doctor angry than harming myself. I'm sure he will understand once the reason for calling is made clear.
