In my " finite " wisdom I'm thinking I could use citric acid - which could also help create a " Fizzing Dead Sea Salt " bath product. Am I thinking right here? If so, should I use 3-5% or higher? Any insight would be appreciated! " Tammy, This answer comes from another one with " finite " wisdom! I don't know anything about preserving natural colors in bath salts, so I won't address that part of the question. My only comment is... be sure that you balance out the citric acid with baking soda if you want a fizzing salt. I made something like this once. I actually used a formula that is in the formulary by MMS called chunky bath fizzies, or something like that. I made the chunky fizzy thing, and mixed it with some great Dead Sea Salts. I didn't blend it with the salts, it was just a mixture of two things colored differently put in the same container. It was pretty. Are you coming to the Texas Soapmakers Convention? You betcha I'm coming the TSA convention! That's one convention I pray I never miss! I just love all of you! I've already asked if we can have our famous " Mud~N~Scrub " party again! I just love doing that! Just had a women's group have me " totally pamper " them this past week. All of them were African American ladies and when that Dead Sea Mud came off those faces, I thought I was looking at angels! It was amazing! I just looooove my job!!!! BTW, I just got in my final results on my Alabama Board Exam for my newest license - Master Educator - I made all A's on all three tests! Now I plan on opening an " alternative " school for the beauty industry! Long term goal is for the school to be able to offer continuing education credits to all three industries - cosmetology, aesthetics & nail technology. One baby step down - 5000 to go! Hope you're doing well! Thanks for the tip on adding the baking soda! I was thinking I needed to do that for the fizz part, don't know if it will effect the preservation of the color or not, but it will surely make a great bathroom affect! God Bless, Tammy D.
