In view of the fact that I've read on this group that no one

knows how to measure Serotonin in the brain, I'm sending this

article hoping for feedback of ideas. I'm still on the edge

about going back to antidepressants, I'm having a difficult time

without them and don't know how much longer I can hold out. I am

just a totally different person without them and I don't like her.

NIH news release, Mutant Gene Linked to Treatment-Resistant

Depression, December 14, 2004 Press Release - National Institutes

of Health (NIH): http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/dec2004/nimh-14.htm>>

** This is poppycock, Liz. don't buy it. I've pasted the article

below. The problem is that all these people were previously treated with

serotonin-enhancing drugs otherwise they wouldn't be able to call them

" treatment resistant " . Most people treated with these drugs suffer later

from a lack of circulating serotonin because the drugs make the brain kill

off serotoni receptors.

The NIH is in bed with the pharmaceutical industry. I just posted an

article not 24 hours ago about how the NIH altered data on a drug found to

be dangerous.

In a time like this where there are frequent articles and television

exposes' on antidepressants you'll see articles like this pooping up fro the

next several weeks. It's called damage control.

The problems you are having are from being in withdrawal. How can you

need a drug that's been proven to be only as effective as a placebo? I

re-posted that article recently, too.

What are you doing to help your body recover?

You'll notice she typed " pooping " (tho I think she meant " popping " ). Typo

or not, I think it's appropriate usage, LOL.

Hi ,

Are there links anywhere to explain about serotonin and the lack

of it. Are you saying that the SSRI's kill off the serotonin?

I'm throughly confused, which is nothing abnormal by the way.

I'm surprised whenever I can put a complete thought together. I

can't remember much of anything, and usually need to read

something over and over again before I comphrehend. Some

articles I can't even get through because they are so long and I

don't have the attention span or the ability to comphrehend what

I'm reading. So, I get confused and bewildered. I also

forget...a lot. Makes people get angry with me which adds to my

stress.

***What is the subject line that I should look for to read this?

What are you doing to help your body recover?

***Spending money on supplements that don't work, not doing too

much different than usual. Because of my diabetes, I eat low

carb for the most part. I have taken Inositol for the zapps and

that seems to work well, but I can't find anything to relieve the

HOT HOT HOT ness of my body. It used to be in my lower abdomen,

now it's all over, moves around like a snake. The homeopathic

Arsenicum Album you suggested did nothing to relieve the heat. I

guess I just have to live with it. My dh has bought me 6 ice

packs that I usually have on me most of the time I'm awake. Some

days/nights it's not so bad, other days/nights it's intolerable

without ice. Dr. says my blood work is ok. I'm hoping it's just

the effects of the drug and someday I will find that I'm not

suffering this heat or MAJOR agitation anymore.

Just call me HOTCRANKYPANTS SHREW LADY THAT CAN'T REMEMBER SH--!!

** Did you come back to me after 2 days to tell me this? This is not

magic, Liz. It takes time, work, and often adapting what is being done.

It's not like the magic pills promised you by the drug industry.

If you take ANY of my suggestions you should be reporting back to me how

it's going. That is the only way I can help you.

You also have to consider that what you are experiencing is not unusual.

This is part of the withdrawal and recovery. It is by no means unique.

I'm going to be really straight with you. There's nothing that burns my

ass more than someone who gets no relief from something I recommend and

never tells me until it comes out this way (they bitch about it). If you

choose to work with me in this style, you won't gain much. However, there

are plenty of people here that can tell you the benefits of communicating

with me on a regualr basis when following the protocols I put out here.

Each person is unique as far as their needs. What works for one sometimes

works for another, but not always. This is why it's necessary to work

closely. If you do, you will certainly gain from it.

There are recommendations in our files for supplements for burning--

horse chestnut, ALA, magnesium, etc. People will tell you this has helped.

What else are you taking? In what doses? How often? What do you eat?

Are you still taking any drugs of any sort? The more info the better, Liz.

This applies to how your body responds to any supplements as well.

+++I wasn't aware I was supposed to do that. I know it's not magic.

You also have to consider that what you are experiencing is

not unusual.

This is part of the withdrawal and recovery. It is by no means

unique.

+++That is reassuring.

I'm going to be really straight with you. There's nothing

that burns my

ass more than someone who gets no relief from something I

+++I wasn't bitching about it, just making a comment. You took

it the wrong way.

There are recommendations in our files for supplements for

burning--

horse chestnut, ALA, magnesium, etc. People will tell you this

has helped.

+++I looked in all the files I could find and found nothing

specifically for burning. As I have written you before, I cannot

take any herbal remedies because of the Guaifenesin I take for

Fibromyalgia. I take Magnesium twice a day per your

recommendation. What is ALA?

What else are you taking? In what doses? How often? What do

you eat?

Are you still taking any drugs of any sort? The more info the

better, Liz.

++++I wrote you before about my diet. Twice a day

(breakfast/supper) I take Fish oil 1000mg, vit C 1000mg , Vit E

400mg , Calcium citrate & calcium malate 600mg, Magnesium Malate

282 mg, usually in the afternoon. I also use the Duragesic patch

for pain, 50mcg every 72 hours and medication for my diabetes,

Metformin, Glipizide and Lantus Insulin. I've been on a strong

Antibiotic for just over 2 weeks with another 2 weeks to go on it

for an infection.
