Hi Deb and everyone on the list!

My name is Tammy and I am 27. I am married to a wonderful, and

supportive man! His name is Bob. We have one child.....our DOG! LOL She is

our baby.

I have had RSD for 3 years now, but wasn't documented until May of 1999.

I was in a car accident in July of 1997 and have been in pain ever since.

The RSD started in my left knee, and now taken over my entire leg, hip, and

left arm.

I have had some hard times with doctors, as I am sure many of you have.

I FINALLY found a super doctor, and he is near me!!! How amazing is that! LOL

I am going into the hospital on Monday for a five day treatment of

Lidocaine. I am getting thru IV which is a lot better and safer then getting

it thru a cathader, which was the initial way talked about.

Anyway, I have done some research, and I strongly believe this will help

stop the RSD in the arm since it is fairly new. My new doctor has given me

so much hope which I had run out of due to my other doctor. Every time I

would leave my old DR's office, she would remind me that, I will not get

better! Well, that would put tears in my eyes every time I would leave.

So, anyway, my new doctor says my RSD is bad, but he is willing to work

with me to help me feel better!!! That is amazing in it's self.

Anyway so that's my story all wrapped up! LOL I hope to meet you soon. I

may not be on in the beginning much, just cause I won't be here all next

week, but I do hope to get to know all of you!

Thank you for the warm welcome Deb! Talk to you soon! Please everyone

keep their fingers crossed that next week goes well! (Thanks!)

Hugs,

Tammy

Hi Tammy,

Who is this doctor and where does he practice? He sounds like a gem.

I've had IV lidocaine reverse the spread of my RSD to new areas, so I think

you are on the right track. You may even find that it reverses the spread of

some of the leg areas. I certainly wish you luck with that.

I've never had the pleasure of lidocaine iv for five days. I'm envious.

Welcome to the group!

(maybe still the only in the listgroup, which is a new experience

for me).

Hi Tammy

I did not have my IVs five days in a row, however I am scheduled for my fifth

one on the 22nd.

I found it to be numbing to my tongue it made me float. I did not like

signing the papers because the 10th side effect is death. I then thought

about the shots my children get and the papers you have to sign!!Ugh.

You are going to be getting all kinds of mail. Negative and hopeful. I made

the mistake of looking everything up on the Internet, and it scared me half

to death.

So, what I am trying to say is I am better, not worse.

My treatment plan is to get the pill form of lidocaine called Mexitil and

that should afford me to take less medication. If needed I will go in once a

month for what the pain clinic calls a booster IV. So IF this works out for

me I will be posting on every list and I will be on every talk show to tell

all the people who have r.s.d this works.

I hope that happens and I am saying it is going to, so it will.

Positive thinking is the key, along with humor.

Good Luck, and keep me posted.

Hugs,

Deb

Thanks so much for your email Deb!

Yeah, I have read some on the internet, and like you said, it will scare

the pants right off of you! For some strange reason, I am really putting my

faith in this doctor! For some reason, I just really trust him and I really

think he knows what he is doing! I know one thing I really liked is that he

is doing research for RSD every day! I just think that is amazing in it's

self! He did say he see's people from all over the United States, so if he

turns out to be as good as I think, I will tell you all about him!!!!!!!!

Right now he is out of Philadelphia PA. Not sure where any of you live,

but if it's close, I would be more than happy to share any info I have with

you!

I never knew the lidocaine came in pill form! That would be so much

better I think. How do you feel? I know you said you feel good, but is it

good normal, or good OK> do you know what I mean? I just know I have my

hopes very high and not too sure if I should. I am going to keep the

positive thinking! That is a must! Even this doctor told me, it's almost

like a mind over matter thing! He also said if I stay as positive and

motivated as I am, that I will do really good! So remember, no one ever stop

hoping!

Big hugs and thanks again for your input!
