Guest guest
Food for Thought: When a man sets out on a journey, He takes provisions with him; If it is for one day he takes provision for two days. If it be for ten days march, he takes provision of fifteen days. And he thinks he will come back in health to his beloved friend's parents and brethren. How then it is that man takes no provisions for that unavoidable journey, on which one must go once and for all for eternal journey. ---Zoroastrianism AURA: The celestial body - 6th layer. Celestial body, the Aura's 6th layer extending from physical body to around 2 - 3 feet. It is an emotional level on spiritual plane. It is this level through which we experience spiritual bliss. We can reach this level through meditation and many other transformation work. Reaching this level gets us connected to universe and feeling of oneness with the universe and the realization of the fact that we are of it and it is of us and we are one with God then we know we have raised our consciousness to sixth level. Unconditional love flows when there is open heart chakra and celestial chakra. The color of this level is golden silver light. Meditation - Powerful Tool Of Inner Serenity Meditation teaches you to be more honest with yourself and you will learn to take more congruent approach towards life. Meditation harmonizes the outer world with the inner world. The two qualities associated with meditation traditions are compassion and wisdom. Scientifically it is known that brain wave patterns work on four levels: beta alpha theta and delta. Beta controls analytical logical deductive qualities of left brain; It is where the physical activity and rational thoughts takes place. The alpha right brain is creative, imaginative and artistic. It is also where intuition, feeling and innate intelligence stem from. This is the best level of meditation. Endorphins chemicals that promote feelings of well being in a person and have been proved to boost immune system are releases in alpha state. It is much slower pulsating brain wave in which you reach a very deep mental stillness and access true imagination inspiration and artistic ideas. It is at delta level the slowest pulsating brain wave that is experienced by yogis who attain a state of absolute spiritual ecstasy. Guest guest
There's far too much hot air talked about meditation. Having taught it for 30 years I'd like to correct the unfortunate impression this gives.1. Meditation does not have to be done sitting. It most c ertainly does n ot require the " lotus " position which if you have not grown up sitting on the floor is very difficult and distracting to do. You can struggle to learn it and succeed but it might be better to just learn to meditate first. 2. Meditation is simply focusing. On anything you choose.Right now pick one thing near you and concentrate on it for a few moments. One key on the keyboard. Your fingernail. A mark on your desk. Anything small. That's meditation.Just focusing on one thing.3. Of course your mind will jump about trying to check out lots of other things. It's built to do that. If it didn't our ancestors would have become a larger animal;s's supper and we wouldn't be here! The art of meditation is to accept whatever your mind jumps off to. Notice it. Accept it. Return to your chosen meditation focus - key on the keyboard - fingernail. - mark on your desk - whatever. This will repeat many times. Even the greatest meditation adepts can only focus for a minute or so. They are great because they accept that!4. Some of the most beautiful and powerful meditation aids are -a bowl of water (with no pattern on the bowl) just look into the water candle flame or real fire flameswalking very very slowly barefoot feling every tiny sensation in the feetSitting breathing meditation is advanced level.Do the others first. That way you'll discover what the benefits are in calm, self awareness, inner strength. Otherwise you'll b e struggling to do something difficult with no idea why you're doing it. which is pretty stupid. 5. Start by meditating for a minute or two. Then 5 mins. Increse it slowly and comfortably. There's no rush. It's not an exam. Your being knows how much it wants to do.6. Visualisation/ Creative Journeys when a voice provides ideas for you to follow in imagination is one type of meditation. Very nice too if it suits you. About one third of all people can't visualise. Brains are built differently. If that's you don't waste energy feeling bad. Use methods that suit you. You'll have other strengths that visualisers don't have. Visualisation can be excellent but it is also parasitic on someone else's skill. Try doing ordinary focusing as well. For one thing it'll make you feel more independent and self confident. For another focusing is something you can do anywhere - on a busy train journey or in the office or factory. It becomes built into you. 7. Why do it?# Accepting what your mind does - the way it jumps at things - builds a bigger acceptance of who you are and how you operate. That's a big help for serenity.# Exactly what your mind runs after is educational. Notice what kind of thing persists in dragging your attention away from your focus. That type of thing is a key issue for you. You might keep being distracted by body discomfort. Learn to relax as much as you canm giving yourself maximum comfort. Learn to relax every muscle you're not using - right now.Once you've learned that you can b egin learning to accept discomfort without it being an obstacle - but not until you learn the depths of comfort! You might be distracted by worries about money or your job, house repairs. Peg that for something you need to face, give more time to9 and solve. Don't avoid the issue because it's not going away. Meanwhile while in the meditation, accept and refocus. You might be distracted by worries about others. If this is persistent you're too focused on others. It might be a partixcular other. Learn to switch this off by the meditation skill of accepting and returning to focus. Caring is good. Worrying is draining. The difference is if there is space to detach from the caring or not. # Taking a little time for yourself is a powerful healing in a busy lifestyle. It will make you stronger to cope with the busyness.# Meditation has its own beauty. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this information, Shan. It clarified meditation in a way I had not read before, and I will definitely be trying some of these tips. As always, great to hear from you. W.
