Of course it is about 30 years old, but still valid I think. Mostly he reckons it's the silica for connective tissue and that this is very water soluable & colloidal, hence it is such a good medicine. I feel that the fact that it is water-soluble mitigates against any irritating effects, after all it has to pass through the digestion. Other main uses are for metabolic disorders, oedema of RA, or just circulatory stasis of lower legs, though no chemistry on that discussed.
