Guest guest Posted August 28, 2010 Report Share Posted August 28, 2010 I started taking Bromelain after developing two large welts, one on my shin and the other on my foot. I have had EM for over 30 years. I have been taking 2400 GDU/g per day for 2 weeks now. It is an enzyme that is found in pineapple. I have been eating pineapple on a regular bases and it has kept the eruputions to a minimum. I did not have any pineapple for a week, and that is when I had the two large welts develop. I had read that Bromelain, as well as pineapples, relieve inflamation, which is why I started eating pineapple on a regular bases. After not having any and developing the welts, I decided to buy the Bromelain, so when I did not have any pineapple, I could take one. I wish I would have bought it sooner. Not only is it cheaper than buying 3 to 4 pineapples a week, it really reduced the size and pain of EM, within a couple of days. I usually have a few small spots spots on both legs with eating the pineapple. With the Bromelain, almost all of them are gone.
