Guest guest
Olive leaf extract really did a great job at minimizing my son's ocd behaviors BUT, make sure you've got a good situation in the gut before trying antivirals. We did 40 days of Fluconazole, then a very long rotation of natural antifungals (that continue to this day) before introducing OLE. Antifungals helped so much with anxiety and panic. OLE pulled the trigger on the stubborn ocd behaviors that lingered. > > I suspect my son has Pandas, on the website it said there was no official test for Pandas. what supplements can I give him to try to see if I can get rid of some of the OCD behaviors? >

Guest guest
I'm not trying to make friends, I'm just being honest. I have researched PANDAS and come to the conclusion that it is just another attempt at putting a diagnosis on our children's different biological conditions. I am trying to warn parents to avoid spending money on testing that will not lead to effective treatment. The best thing to do is educate yourself on your child's specific behaviors and how they relate to anecdotal AND research article/journal information and make your decision on ways to treat them. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. > > > > > > Inositol. I think PANDAS is a crock. > > > > > >
Guest guest
I'm not at all offended. Quite the opposite - i value your opinion and a debate can be very informative. Of course, this only works when people explain their dissenting view. There probably is truth to what you are saying. Sometimes MMR is the trigger, sometimes it's an autoimmune response to Strep. My feeling is that the first order problem is heavy metal. PANDAS seems to offer some avenues for treatment. How much inositol are we taking about? A one time mega-dose, large amounts daily? --penumbra > > > > > > > > Inositol. I think PANDAS is a crock. > > > > > > > > > >

Guest guest
Kerrie, respectfully, I think your son is eating more than one allergen. Many of the GFCF foods contain soy and MSG. Seriously consider taking them out of his diet. There are many hidden names of MSG, and they are likely to be in the " natural flavors " of your vitamins/supplements and foods. It's hard, but I would also avoid chocolate. If you get the right foods out, the screaming will stop, trust me...my son screamed for half a year after his 4 year old vaccines and finally, with chelation and food avoidance, it stopped. > > > A crock??? Guest guest
Re: Pandas That doesn't make sense Christel, any bacteria can cause autoimmune reactions if the immune system is overreactive. Have you read "The Autoimmune Epidemic"? The author claims exposure to multiple allergens can cause an autoimmune reaction in people who are susceptible. I am only saying there are other factors involved. If a person is experiencing strep throat they are more likely to develop an autoimmune reaction if their body has the environment for it. And they are even more likely to develop an autoimmune reaction if they have strep AND heavy metals poisoning AND are eating MSG, soy, artificial colors and other things people find it hard to avoid. At one point I questioned whether my son had an autoimmune disease because he had patterns of immune reaction, inflammation, aggression, and then regression all the time. I dug deep into research and decided to do chelation using the Cutler protocol because I believe these cycles are related to metals in his body. During this time, I experimented avoiding all kinds of foods from his diet. I didn't like it and neither did he, but we now know what foods cause what. His autoimmune cycles are gone. I think chelation and food elimination are on the path toward eliminating the environment in which autoimmune diseases can flourish, and that's what I am here to share.> > > > > >> > > > > > Inositol. Guest guest
he is gfcfsf and all things that showed up on his IGE and IGG, free. we did LDN and it helped restore his immune system and balence him. his immune panel was a mess before that. he is OFF LDN and still is able to eat those previous 22 allergies that showed up both IGG and IGE. suppliments played a roll into that as well. we were able to drop all suppliments but enzymes, probiotics, and ONE suppliment (I think it was taurine due to the seizers) with the LDN as well, and got a beautiful bill of health from BUIE when he got in there. he had been on diet for 3 years at the time! no leaky gut ect. he still seizered with ANY cc issues, skin contact with gluten ect. so he told us to view him as celiac even though his genetic test came back fine since he said it wasn't 100 %. his NT sister BOTH also seizer with gluten. the younger one was fine till this last week and had HEROWN first exposure to gluten on an UNCLEANED or not well enough cleaned high chair and had a 10 second absent seizer....which is what we see with the other kids. she has not had that large an exposure only what has come through my breast milk before. for that reason levi will be gf as well as the girls for life. he is missing lactade makding ability and is lactose intollerent found per secretin push DURRING his scope done pre and post. and he is has issues making the proper AMOUNT of pancreatic enzymes, although he makes some, secretin was LIFE changing for him when we did it before. we are looking to do oral DMSA which is what we had done a few rounds of before and dumped alot of lead., we have rid him of alumium issues and arsenic, antimony and I can't remember the other over the years with JUST diet and suppliments in place and much of his lead, HOWEVER he still has some minor lead issues and mercury issues to deal with and now that so many other things have been delt with we are now ready to move on. our son was SEVERLY effected in the beggining, they recommended institutionalizing him, making him wear a helmet 24/7 AND padding the walls of his room....he was SO self abusive. on the autism scale of 1-10, 10 being normal or NT, and 1 being mentaly retarded, he scored a 3. he now is at 9.5....the PANDAS peice being what is holding him back. we are getting ready (as soon as our house closeing mess is finished and insurence up and running with the move changes) going to repeat a bunch of his tests to see where thing are at. blood glutathione, comp stool, OATS, blood AA, ect.....to see what last clean up we have left to do, to take and address the PANDAS< metals and any other pathegenic stuff. we had just redone titers not to long ago and we are now with a new DAN who speializes in LYME testing which to test you have to GO on antibiotics, and he dose diflucan which we have been big responders to as well, so we will couple the two and I hope it will address some of the PANDAS stuff as well.....so it WILL be interesting to see what we have left. he is mainstreamed in school, no aid needed....ect. carries PDD label to get services for when PANDAS flares but doesn't qualify for that with the flare. he was one point going either NO PDD label (when in non flare) to haveing label (with flare) so they gave us the label until the PANDAS is gone and we won't need to tap that anymore..... the person who DID the testing was the SAME person who had evaled him 3 years prior with the Autism sever label. so it's not a difference in opion from one person to the next either. the woman actually CRIED when she saw his gains.....and how his abilities had changed and highly praised all we have done with him, we have done the impossible even medically speaking fixing things that shouldn't be fixable ect. our Dr's have been amazed as well. christel Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 Re: Pandas Christel,What diet did you follow for your son,,,,,,and do you still do it? Guest guest
I'm about to test my girl for PANDAS (as result of learning from you all that it may be the source of her tics). Can I trust the tests? If negative, would you still treat her? How would you do it most safely? And someone please clarify: when referring to OCD behaviors, are we talking stims? My girl loves to pull feathers under the light. She chews them too (anyone know what's in dress-up feathers?). Guest guest
this CAN be pica from either lead poisening, as well as low zinc. or even a feather allergy. doing the test will only tell you if they have been in a flare in the last 6-8 weeks, it's something that has to be repeated when you see an increase in issues....so you may have to retest several times unless you have a cronic ongoing case that NEVER goes down Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 Re: Pandas Christel,What diet did you follow for your son,,,,,,and do you still do it?
