Guest guest
It's very easy. Get shot from fridge. Clean off small spot with alchohol swab on either thigh or stomach. Slowly inject fluid. It might hurt & give her large spots of redness for the first month or more, but just hang in there, it will go away. It also took 2 full months to start working on me, they say it can take up to 6 months, so be patient. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Hi , When I first started Kineret, the sting really got to me, so it helped if I put an ice pack on for about ten minutes first (either on my stomach or the top of my leg). It also helped to inject slowly--a little bit at a time. I don't like the auto-injector because you can't choose the speed, so your wife should consider her choices. Your wife might also get " site reactions " (pretty common in kineret). These will be red, itchy patches at the injection sites. For me, they showed up a day or two after the injection, and some turned into big knots the size of golf balls that burned and itched like crazy. Benadryl helped me, both the liquid on the spots and taking the oral, but she should check w/her doctor to make sure it's okay for her to use these. Sitting with an ice pack on the spots helped too. I started kineret in summer so it was easy to just pack my underwear with ice packs and wear loose dresses, LOL, like homemade air conditioning. The site reactions should disappear over time (typically 6-8 weeks). I've been on Kineret for three years now and never get them. The sting gets better over time too. Now I rarely notice it. Hope that helps. > > Hy everybody my wife is going to start on kineret today and she wans to know if someone can tallher how to injected please write back please and kineret help alot. Guest guest
Dearest , I have been on kineret for four years now. Although it is a little hard to start at first, time will make things much easier. I have learned to take it out of the fridge for a bit before I inject it. It seems to take the little bite out of it that it seems to give off at the time of injection. The site reactions will calm down with time too. She might get a little frustrated, but believe me...as " time " goes by, it will get much easier and she will find little things to make it go easier for her. This drug has helped me VERY much. In fact...I just had my first stills flare in four years this PAST week. That's a LONG time. It hit me very, very hard. It came without warning, but I am doing a little better and just dealing with the aftermath of the pain. Everyone around here, felt so bad, but I had reminded them how I have been in a sort of remission for quite some time now. I have been very happy with kineret, and I hope that your wife will feel the same relief soon. Everyone reacts so different. Many hugs and support. Just wondering for those of you this has worked well for, how long did it take for you to start noticing improvement in symptoms? _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail has tools for the New Busy. Guest guest
Hi , I was very fortunate, it only took me a couple of days to see improvement. I was on it for 2 years but it recently stopped working for me. Sherry A smile doesn't cost anything to give away, but to the person it is given to could mean the whole world. Subject: Kineret To: Stillsdisease Date: Friday, March 12, 2010, 9:17 PM  I started Kineret Feb 15 and really haven't experienced any improvement in symptoms. Guest guest
It took a while and didn't help very long. Whoa. I thought this was going to be a miracle drug. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Guest guest
Hi Sherry: I was started on it back in Sept for about two weeks, but had bad site reactions so stopped. At that time I was also taking Methotrexate with it, but also had to stop due to elevated liver enzymes. Anyway, I have just started back and it is not working yet. Not sure if it is because I am not taking Methotrexate with it or not. It gets so frustrating doesn't it. I hope you are finding something else that is working for you or will work for you. Thanks for your input. > > > Subject: Kineret > To: Stillsdisease > Date: Friday, March 12, 2010, 9:17 PM > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > I started Kineret Feb 15 and really haven't experienced any improvement in symptoms.
