I wonder if there is too much emphasis here on the practice and too little consideration for the practitioner. I have not tried NFB but am in talk therapy for reasons other than Misophonia. I think the therapy industry is deeply flawed, that there are may irresponsible therapists out there and surely this must include therapists who practice NFB. Still, I believe that talk therapy can be effective and am also not ready to throw out NFB because some people found it ineffective for them. As for talk therapy, it is not meant to "cure" anything but it is supposed to help us live more engaged and independent lives. If a therapists cultivates or allows a patient to remain dependent on them, this is bad therapy. Unfortunately, it is very difficult for patients to advocate for

themselves and to know how to find the right therapist. We need better regulation of this industry, and perhaps better info about NFB and other treatments.
