Guest guest Posted December 31, 2004 Report Share Posted December 31, 2004 Hi Jen, Yeah, on top of the mandatory generic program (regardless of medical necessity for name brand), we also have a 4-tier Formulary list, which is hell when we need a new medication, or where the approved Formulary med failed miserably. We pay $15 for a month's supply of a generic and $30 for a name brand (no generic available) that's on the Formulary. Also, since my last employer maintains their own doctor's office/pharmacy, we have to drive clear across town anytime either of us needs a refill. At least with the company-owned pharmacy, we have the option of having 90 days' supply of non-Schedule II meds for the price of 2 months' worth. Sort of a " Buy 2, Get One Free " thing. And then, of course, there's a way around the system by having your doctor prescribe as though you were using maximum levels of meds every day so you never run short. On a bad Fibro day, I can use up to 36 Zanaflex in 24 hours, with my doctor's authorization 36*90= 3240 pills, dispensed in 600 pills at a time Sara Greathouse in Ohio sfatula@...
