Hi Jen,

Yeah, on top of the mandatory generic program (regardless of medical necessity

for name brand), we also have a 4-tier Formulary list, which is hell when we

need a new medication, or where the approved Formulary med failed miserably. We

pay $15 for a month's supply of a generic and $30 for a name brand (no generic

available) that's on the Formulary. Also, since my last employer maintains

their own doctor's office/pharmacy, we have to drive clear across town anytime

either of us needs a refill. At least with the company-owned pharmacy, we have

the option of having 90 days' supply of non-Schedule II meds for the price of 2

months' worth. Sort of a " Buy 2, Get One Free " thing.

And then, of course, there's a way around the system by having your doctor

prescribe as though you were using maximum levels of meds every day so you never

run short. On a bad Fibro day, I can use up to 36 Zanaflex in 24 hours, with my

doctor's authorization 36*90= 3240 pills, dispensed in 600 pills at a time
