Anyone still here? Runner's World sent out this article today citing

a study that says light weights build muscle as effectively as heavy

weights. Not sure how much credence one study has found it

interesting. The lifting to failure part makes sense either way.

Heavy

Yesterday I started weight lifting again after some time off. I ran

this morning and my upper body was so sore and I felt so depleted

overall. It is my own fault as I've been taking too much time off in

the past year. I had a good excuse last year after the back surgery

but not a good excuse now. Things were going good for a few weeks in

Jan/Feb and then I slacked off again! I had my body fat tested for a

research study last week with DXA and it was up 6% over 4 years ago so

that is a reality check that I need to lift weights and no more

excuses. My weight is the same though so sadly about 9 lbs of my

muscle has converted to fat. I wonder if there is any hope in getting

some of that muscle back?

I hope everyone still reading is well.

Andy
