Also, I’m sure many people here can relate to what you’re describing. If you read through some of the previous posts you will find similar descriptions and ideas on how to cope with this. Although so far there is no official cure, if you read the topic/thread “The CURE ... Neurofeedback” that’s one promising treatment for help. There are many other ideas here for coping also such as using noise-cancellation earbuds or headphones that play white (or pink or brown) noise or music you like, etc to block and drown out the trigger sounds. BTW, my son doesn’t use his head, but he does bang loudly (I think he’s using a shoe or a dumb bell) on the walls and floors to “knock the sounds out of his head”. I hate for you to injure yourself if you’re banging against the wall with your head, although I realize any pain from doing that is most likely not as bad as how you feel if you don’t do it.
