I was born in Nipawin, SK and before I moved to Indiana four years ago, I had spent the last eleven years living in Saskatoon. That's the longest I have ever lived in one place, so to me, that's " home. " :-) I have a nephew that lives in Saskatoon, but no other family living there. My kids are grown. One lives in Meadow Lake and the other is in Prince Albert. One of my sisters splits her time between Summerland and Wells and High River and the other has been in Fort Sask for 30 years. The nephews, nieces and foster kids are all over the globe - from England to Japan. We get around. lol -- Lyndi un Canadien errant

Guest guest
Hi every one, my name is Shereen, I am 27 years old girl from Egypt, working as a mechanical engineer. I had the AOSD a year ago, began with fever and pain all over my body, then two weeks later the rash came on, I take sulpiride, methotrexate, Oscal, Folic acid, plaquenil and Bone one. I am engaged and should get married within a year, I asked my doctor what will be the best way to postpone the pregnancy and she said none will work, I really can't have kids in the beginning of my marriage and don't know what to do. Also I am losing my hair and I tried many things to get it back but nothing worked with me. I really need to share this with u because no one around me really understand what I am going through... Guest guest
Hi Shereen, Welcome! I've had Still's a long time and been losing my hair as well a lot lately. Mine is not from the Still's though or medications. I'm not quite sure why but know it's hard to deal with as it gets thinner and thinner and it must be so especially since you're so young. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions except to say that over the years it seems to get better at times more than others and doesn't always stay thin. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I hope it goes well, just try and get as much rest as you can. Again welcome. We look forward to knowing you better. Guest guest
Dears, Thank you all very much for your replies, really it's so nice to be with you here. I will get back to another doctor about the birth control. I want to know if any one now using plaquenil or used it before, it's really bad! I have Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, cramps, loss of appetite and headache. Is this normal? As Tom said I to lost a lot of my hair but I do not know if it was my moms genes and man baldness or the MTX but it did start before I was on MTX so I lean more its moms fault. LOL.. As for help well woman can get away with wigs and things easier then men but I find hats work really well and if they have things like Deer on them that even better. all joking aside I really do not know what to say except for if its in the front tell them your a thinker if its in the back tell them your a lover and if its front to back well tell them nothing because they will just think your a lover . Okay this time no joke but no answer also I do know that for some it can make hair fall out and others it may not at all and many fall in the middle some wear also. I look at it this way even thou I joke about it I would love to have my hair back as I do not have a head for baldness but being its a no go for me I just say this is me and who I am like it or not its still better then how things were before when I had more hair and also a lot more pain and problems health wise. If this is one of the things I have to give up so be it. yes easer for a man to say I know but it is also my belief in life that out side looks will fade and change and its never for the best but the person we are in side never changes and that is who we really are after all and if some one can not see that then there shallow and losing out on a lot of life by placing importance on what nature is not kind to compared to the person who is always inside never changing! Hugs and good luck finding your answer as ya never know like all things just because it did not work for me dose not mean it will not work for you or the other way around also. the redneck Marty G. ____________ _________ _________ __ From: drwooly2006 Sent: Thu, December 17, 2009 6:04:44 PM Subject: Re: Hi Hi Shereen. As far as your hair, I wish there was something that could offset it. Some who have been on methotrexate have experienced hair loss and many others have not. I had lost most of my hair before going on methotrexate but did not seem to lose more while on it. Maybe someone in the group may have come across something that may help. I do know that making sure that you supplement your folic acid at the right time around the methotrexate dosing may help but it looks like you have that covered. Again, welcome. Guest guest
Shereen, I have been taking Plaquenil for over a year and have no side effects. Unfortunately, one of the biggest problems with this disease is we all have different reactions to different drugs, so what works for one does not work for another. Hope you find something that works for you. Sue Subject: Re: Re: Hi To: Stillsdisease Date: Wednesday, December 23, 2009, 2:25 AM  Dears, Thank you all very much for your replies, really it's so nice to be with you here.
