Yes, my son has always had alot of ear wax. I do the

same thing--q-tips being careful not to push any back

in. I haven't tried ear candles--good idea.

Also have started him a new kind of magnesium--I

wonder how long it takes for it to reach the tissues

when there's been a deficiency.

Hi. I think we should buy stock in Debrox as much as we have to use it....lol

It is like an oil, but it foams when it comes in contact with the ear wax.

The hydrogen peroxide causes the foaming action. I have my son lie on the bed,

couch or floor, put it in one ear and have him lay still for about 5 minutes.

Then I put a wash cloth under his ear and have him turn the other ear up and

repeat the process. Our Ped has even suggested using it twice a day. Then I give

him a bath and gently use the ear syringe to shoot gentle streams of warm

water in his ears to help wash the wax out. Candling is another possibility. You

can buy the ear candles at your Health food store. It is very easy to do and

works well.

My kids all have ear wax issues. We drip in diluted hydrogen peroxide, then

rinse. If you do this once a month or so it should keep the ears clear.

My son has excessive ear wax in both ears, our peds dr. told me.

He said to use Debrox. I bought it and it said it was a foam and

thought my son might " feel " this in his ear and thought we might not

have a pleasant experience.

Anybody ever use this or had anything else work?

I also heard it is from eating something he shouldn't. Started the

enzymes a few days ago.

My son also had a lot of ear wax - lots of goopy stuff all the time.

He also had lots of ear infections. It cleared up for about a month

after the tubes were put in, but then reappeared. I guess they just

got cleaned out real good.

I took away all additives and preservatives as well as dairy out of my

son's diet back in October (an elimination diet) Amazingly, the ear

wax stopped. We eventually took him off gluten because of high blood

levels (Celiac markers) but have resumed dairy and very limited

preservatives or additives. His ear wax has not returned. Was it just

something spontaneous that changed in him? I don't know. Sorry I

can't tell you more. However, we did start enzymes around the same

time we decided to include dairy back in.

We used Debrox on my daughter's ears, and a LOT of wax came out... we

used to do the peroxide/alcohol mix, but Debrox workedthe best... (When

my daughter's doctor rec'd it, I felt like she was being rediculous,

because I ALWAYS clean the kids' ears out... We did it in the morning

and night for about a week, and all of a sudden tons of stuff came out

of her ears... It was really cool (and sort of horrifying to think it

had been in there for so long... poor kid.)

Also, on an aside... one of the symptoms of a Omega 3 deficiency is

excessive earwax... sounds funny.... but my 8 y.o. always had " rusty

ears " until we began giving her fish oils... ever since then, her

earwax has calmed down 90%... the back of her arms no longer

have " chickn skin " , and she is doing better with her spelling (which

she was horrible at.) It's great. :)

PS~ Ear candling can be dangerous... the wax can drip down into the ear

canal... talk about painful... we have used them without great

sucess... my mom used to do my sister's all the time... but, it is a

risk I am not willing to take, knowing the possible dangers...
