Guest guest
Hi, I think this post was reposted by yahoo. I was reading in an older book " low blood sugar and you " 1969, It talked about mini stroke recovery being helped by nutrition, and mentioned bioflavoids in particularly. The book mentioned the ketogenic diet and it helped epilepsy, and the effect of low blood sugar on epilepsy. He did not recommend a very low carb diet for low blood sugar. Those books helped me in the 1980s to reduce my sugar, but wished they had gone further in recommending very low carb. My glucose tolerance test then was fasting 80 and down to 60 later. My blood sugar never got real high in between. I have had tinnitus as long as I can remember. Guest guest
Hi , Are you saying this guy did not recommend a low carb diet if you had low blood sugar? I thought it was opposite. By the way I get tinnitus off and on and a lot lately. Strange so many of us have it. Quite a while back my doc sent me for some test, and on the lab slip it said: TIA? Which it seems I didn't have (hoping), but it also said: brain lesions. I got scared and asked him were they serious and he said no, you're fine and I've been fine. No more blood sugar collapses, but I have pretty bad memory problems. But it's good enough. I just hope it's good enough to keep a job. Guest guest
Hi Actually, he did recommend lowering sugar, but not very low carbs. He did mention the ketogenic diet in the book for epilepsy. I just think if he had mentioned all with low blood sugar to go on a very low carb, we would have had better improvement in our overall health, as well as better blood sugar control. I struggled with sugar cravings, and only got a handle on it with very low carb. Overall, I have less of a problem with brain fog, only once in a while, I struggle to come up with the right words. Guest guest
Hi , I am low carb and no sugar and I have been craving carbs like crazy. I even added butter to my oils for variety. But in the last few days the carb cravings are strong. I finally broke down last night and got up and had cereal at 3:00 in the morning???? Craving was that bad. My mood is okay, but my memory is just less than great, not great and I'd like to see improvement in that. I'm going to see an aryurvedic dr. today. Very ancient medicine and it worked for my friend and her husband. Love, Jean > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > I think this post was reposted by yahoo. Guest guest
Hi Yes, lowing carbs can really induce cravings. I sent through it as well. Try to stay away from sugar, don't look at it. do dry skin brushing, make sure you have plenty of water and 1/1/2 teaspoon sea salt a day, and vitamin c. If you slip up, try to get back on it. If you can handle coconut oil though you don't have to go as low carb to reach ketosis. Bee says some buckwheat pancakes are good if you must back off and have some carbs. Dr scott Olson who wrote " Sugarettes " says he never really had the cravings bad, until he went really low carb. He has a good website and a small yahoo group. c > > Hi , > > I am low carb and no sugar and I have been craving carbs like crazy. I even added butter to my oils for variety.
