Saw this award-winning independent film documentary this weekend in

Philadelphia, and just so happened to go to the showing where the producer of

the movie was at the theater for a Q & A afterward.

" Buck " , the name of the man, who was inspiration behind the book and subsequent

movie " The Horse Whisperer " , is about an American horse trainer who was scared

early as a child from a drunk and abusive father, that pushed through it,

turning hurt into grace, and has become one of the most sought after horse

trainers in the country, because of his unique ability to connect and understand

the horse psyche, and how it relates to humans.

" rather than helping people with horse problems, I'm helping horses with people

problems. "

I'll leave the reviews for critics (which have been great), but if you get a

chance to see this movie, you will undoubtedly find the emotional similarity

between horses and humans, and particularly children. The cause and affect of

how we pick up emotional stuff as kids via times where there is a lack of love

and security, that negatively effects our psyche going forward. How the instinct

to whip them (or ourselves) into submission via control methods just hardens

them, versus treating them (or ourselves) with love, acceptance, compassion, and

patience.

I have written several times about how profound it was for me, when I started

viewing and treating the anxiety I experience, as a child that just wants some

comfort, and to know everything is going to be OK...I started consciously

relating to this part of my self* like this, after doing some inner child work

and realizing just how understandable it was that fear and anxiety formed, and

how I picked up anxiety as a method to try to protect myself because of specific

situations that had happened to me growing up.

I am not pushing this film for any reason, other than I think it could be very

inspiring and helpful.

Treat yourself with love and care
