I must say, this is a great list. You guys stay on topic and what is said

is very helpful. None of the bickering like some of the other lists I'm on.

The topic of the week is veggies. I must say, I love pretty much all

veggies except for peas! They are disgusting. So when I found out WW

amended their program and a lot of veggies now count I was very

disappointed. It was easy for me to stay on the plan before because I could

fill myself up on free veggies, but now, I'd rather eat something else since

it's going to cost me points anyway. I know veggies are important, but who

wouldn't rather eat say a granola bar or a bit of ice cream instead of 2

cups of carrots!

Since I am from the 1-2-3 program, I know carrots count etc, but are there

any free veggies left? Can someone please tell me?

I like to make my own dressings because FF dressings taste awful except for

maybe the Italian and I'm sick of it. For example....I'll take some

tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, onions, red pepper etc and then some beans

(kidney, pinto, any kind) and make a salad. The beans make the salad more

hearty and filling, and this salad can even be used in place of a potato or

rice with dinner because of the beans. For dressings I've used FF mayo,

vinegar, pepper, mustard is a must! any club house seasoning like Roasted

Red Pepper, or Garlic Plus etc and I'll blend it all together. I'll even

heat it for a few seconds in the Microwave so the flavours blend better and

then I'll mix it into the salad. I find salads taste better a little more

close to room temperature for the flavours blend better.

We also eat a lot of steamed veggies, or I'll stir-fry them in some butter

spray, chicken broth and seasonings and serve them over rice etc. I

actually did this with left-over thanksgiving turkey last night and added

some wine to the sauce. It was pretty good.

Lyn, I do have a great recipe for pumpkin soup but I'll have to locate it.

It was only 2 pts per serving with the 123 system, but I am unsure if this

will change with the winning points system. It is a very strong soup and is

a nasty colour, but I love it. It's actually a ginger-pumpkin soup. If

anyone else has a recipe that doesn't contain ginger I'd be interested for

ginger is very strong and can only be handled once in awhile.

Lyn, do not worry about going off the program. As long as you get right

back on, then it doesn't really matter. Live one day at a time. After you

are done you can eat at Mcs, but you'll still have to work it into the

points range you work out for your maintenance program (which is a higher

point range than your losing point range). Trust me, there are times when

I've felt like you have and I'll sit in front of my computer with a 2 Litre

tub of ice cream and eat it for dinner! It's sooooo goood, but I feel

pretty guilty when I am done.!

Hope this all helps

Tami
