About the rejected urine specimen

From Metametrix, they told me that Vit C is a diuretic, and that may have made

the urine too dilute. Then Dr. just sent this:

The urine specimen received on 4/1 had a creatinine of 18.1. The urine

received on 4/21 had a cratinine of less than 16.

We still have the specimen from 4/1. We can analyze it and put a " low

creatinine disclaimer " in the comment field. The results will come back

high, but the physician can pseudo-normalize the reults by assuming a

creatine value of 60. To do this, simply divide the results by 3. This

method will pick up the truly abnormal results. Borderline abnormals may be

missed.
