Guest guest
Darlene,Have you tried Organic Apple Cider Vinegar on your Legs? As long as you do not have open sores this solution works the best for me in cutting pain significantly. I use Braggs Organic ACV with the mother in it. I dip a sponge or paper towells and brush them over the lumps. I also wrap the paper towels that have been soaked in ACV around my legs and ellevate them. This cuts the pain and swelling significantly for me. Itks really quite facinating. I've had EN for eons and nothing works like it when I have a flair up. It must be organic ACV though. Household ACV will not work.Tell me how this works for you.BestML GemmillEN 1975Sent via BlackBerry from T-MobileFrom: "nvrnvrlnd@..." I have been reading the other posts and its good to know that I am not the only one out there dealing with this. I was diagnosed with EN about 10 weeks ago and it has slowly gotten worse week after week. I am on 4 200 mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day. 10 weeks ago I thought I was going to the Derm because I was in a lupus flare but instead I have this new thing. I have never been in such pain as I have been in the last week or so. One day last week I just couldn't stand it anymore and went home about noon. Tried to do some work from home, gave up about 6 pm. Decided I needed a nap, laid down at 6:30 and didn't wake up until 5:30 the next morning. I am just worn out and sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have an appointment Wed. to get a biopsy done. I have tried both heat and cold packs on my lower leg but nothing seems to help with the pain. Does anyone have any other suggestions to help get through this? What is everyone's experience with the length of time these bumps and rash remain? The doc told me it should resolve in 6 weeks but I'm going on 10 weeks now. Sorry if it seems like I'm whinning but I'm sure everyone here understand what I'm going through. Guest guest
Hi Darlene, sorry to hear you are in so much pain... I'm currently at the hospital, and on my 6th day of complete bed rest (and I mean complete, never having legs lower than my waist, just getting up for a shower and pee) this time around, I've seen how much quicker I'm healing than in the past. Know that not everybody can take 1 week off work/house chores but if you could arrange some help, I urge you to try. At first I was tired, but could manage 1-2 hrs of work on the computer a day. Hang in there!! Isabella PS I^ve also stopped ice packs as I thought it made the condition worse the next day > > This is my first post. Guest guest
You know I noticed it took the sting out of the burning in my legs right away. I don't know if you have that feeling. But when my lumps came they just burned like fire. So painful. The lumps, swelling, diminished significantly over the course of 7 days of me doing this daily. I saw a 50% improvement within 2 days.I did it three times a day. Letting the soaked paper towels wrapped around my leg for 20 minutes or more at a time with them elevated. Please let me know the results! wishing you healing. Guest guest
, When I try to explain how this feels the only thing I can come up with is a really bad sun burn that still has the heat in it. It's so nice to know that someone else out there knows exactly what I'm going through and how this feels. You are an angel from heaven! I will let you know how this goes. I guess I should wait until after the biopsy heals before I start soaking my leg with the ACV. Thanks so much!! > > > > > > Darlene, > > > Have you tried Organic Apple Cider Vinegar on your Legs? Guest guest
Yes I do know how painful it is. I have had some incredibly huge, insanely painful and long lasting breakouts that have left me with broken blood vessels. I used to just ice them and within minutes the ice would melt becauseof the heat I would generate. I never thought about anything else till one day this french woman asked me why I was limping.I showed her my legs and she said why don't you use Organic ACV? I looked at her like she was nuts. She told me in Franceher family uses it on rashes, burns, and sore muscles and they also drink it. Then I remembered when I was little my mother would make us bath in it when we had sunburns and it cut the sting. So I reluctantly bought some the next day for 4 bucks.I put it on and the relief was so fast. The sting was gone. Then I wrapped my legs up with paper towels soaked in it and elevated them for 30 minutes or more.within 48 hours my lumps were reduced by 50% it was crazy.Anyway, I wish you the best! I would put a band aid over your biopsy and wrap the ACV around the lumps. Because those lumps take a long time to heal with biopsies because of the inflammation. Organic ACV wouldn't be bad for the wound as they use it to treat horses when they wound their legs. It would definitely sting, but if you cover your biopsy and work around it, it may help the swelling go down and heal your wound faster. I am hoping you have the success I have had with this.best to you! Guest guest
Hi Kim,I'm sorry you are dealing with EN. I had my first bout at age 21. Then nothing for 3 yrs. Then another bout and nothing for 2 yrs. I was diagnosed 5 yrs after my first bout. I had recurrent EN. It would go into remission and then come back after 6 months. This continued for 41 yrs. Now I have been EN free for 3 years. It is wonderful to be normal again at the age of 64! I hope it is gone for good. Some people only get it once. Some like me get it more often. I think I have had about 100 flare ups now. It did not leave scars, but one leg is now thinner than the other. I don't care--because I can walk without pain now. I hope you feel better soon, and never have another EN bout. I never figured out for sure what caused my EN. I think it was hormonal. But that is just a guess.Love,http://poems2order.wordpress.com/Please enter Erythema Nodosum.........Thanks!Subject: New to ENTo: erythema_nodosum_Group Date: Wednesday, November 30, 2011, 6:36 PMIt all started when my knees were killing me. It hurt to walk up stairs and down stairs. And to bend down , well, I just wanted to cry it hurt so bad. Went to the doctor and they took x-rays of both knees could not find anything. Then I was sent to orthopedist, still nothing. In the mean time these red welts started showing up. I was told by the Orthpedist they looked like bug bites. NOT!! I was also seeing a chiropractor who told me that it systemic. He seemed to be the only one that knew what he was talking about. Went to the doctor AGAIN and was told the welts were Erythema Nodosum. I had never heard of such a thing. The welts were very painful and burned. It felt like my legs were on fire at one point. It seemed like the red area around the welt was getting bigger. Then my legs started to swell. My ankles were the size of softballs. The only thing that releived the swelling was proping my legs up.I am into my 4th week with this. The red areas are staring to itch and at times I have pain. I hope none of this leaves a scar. The areas a starting to turn purple, is the end? Are they going to come back? One doctor told me that it doesn't return, I hope so, but after reading some the post, it doesn't sound like it.My Mother always told me I was not normal :0) Guess she was right.------------------------------------You can help Erythema Nodosum Research.
