Ways to tell people you have this syndrome?

My new coworker does certain things like typing loudly (slamming keys), lifting

her mouse to move it so I hear when it lands on the desk, sipping her coffee

with a tiny straw. I don't think I need to explain the kind of reactions I have

to these sounds.

I've never told anyone I have this syndrome, cause frankly, I just found out it

had a name (with the exception of my college campus shrink a few years ago). So

lets' hear it. How do you approach people about this without sounding like a

total nutcase and without affecting your working relationship with them. I'm

thinking about talking to her privately at those opportune times when we are

alone in the room. I hate making a big deal out of my noise issues and you can

probably understand, anxiety is another issue I have, although only moderate.

But, at the same time, I need to get through to her, because two weeks ago I

already asked her nonchalantly if she could type quieter and that it can be

distracting (english is not her first language either). Thanks for your

responses. Second post btw- it's also nice to talk to other people who have

this!!!
