Guest guest
Bill had one and had no problems. It makes infusions easier. Easier on the veins. They need to be flushed at least once a month. Nurse normally did it. If you are getting IV's it will be done automatically by the IV. Bill's was in his chest. Kathy PICC line Hi All, I am lining up for a trial using IV (and oral) PXD101. It requires that I have a PICC line inserted. There is a nice explanatory piece about PICC lines at the cancerbacup site: http://www.cancerbacup.org.uk/Treatments/Chemotherapy/Linesports/PICClin e Any comments - the good, the bad, and the ugly - from those of you who have experience of a PICC line would be appreciated. Thanks, .

Guest guest
Hi Kathy Was Bill's line flushed with heparin or something different? I'm glad to hear he had no problems with it but have you any idea from others of the risk of local infections? I've been suggesting my should have a port but so far without success, largely because the nurse said infection was a risk. Since he's diabetic that could be more troublesome than usual. Bill had one and had no problems. It makes infusions easier. Easier on the veins. They need to be flushed at least once a month. Nurse normally did it.
