Guest guest
In my opinion Gladys, at this point it doesn't matter anymore, it is for the comfort of the LO now and what can help your mom to be in less pain. No, No drugs no longer count. I am so glad that you recently had a lovely moment with your mom when she joined you on the beautiful day out on the porch and babbled and enjoyed the sunshine. It was a real gift and one that you can cherish and hold onto at moments like this. What a blessing. Strength to see you through this and Huge Hugs.................Jan morphine I know that morphine is on the " no no " list but...... The nurse thinks it will only be a few more days. Mom is, basically, asleep 95% of the time. However, the pain is increasing and we can see that she is very uncomfortable. The ultram doesn't seem to be touching it anymore and the nurse didn't think that, at this point, the morphine would do the damage we worry about when our loved ones are physically more healthy. What do you all think? Gladys
Guest guest
Dear Gladys, by all means, morphine is good at this point. That's what Sherman had the last 2 or 3 days, and it kept him comfortable and according to the hospice nurse, that also made his breathing easier. Besides, when he started to get worse, the doctor asked me if it was OK to stop all his medicines, which weren't doing any good by then, and I said yes. We tried giving him water by little spoonfuls, encouraging him to swallow until he couldn't anymore the last day. My prayers are with you. God give you and your family the strength you need. A big hug, Raquel __________________________________________________
