Guest guest
Dear Members of Diabetes eGroup, I am one of the "lurker" members, a Canadian living in Hong Kong, where it is has been New Years Day for more than half a day longer than members in North America. Have been in touch with Meenie, and she kindly allowed me to post the following (thanks for the advice Meenie, and sorry it took me so long to post): Have been on insulin for 8 years and am under very good control. Recently switched from Actrapid and Ultratard to Humalog and Humulin N. Glad to report the reading are even better with the change in insulin, even though I take an extra shot each day. I still have a supply of unused (and completely unopened) insulin packages. Have asked hospitals and my doctor here if they will take them, even as donations, but all said they would not. Am offering the following types of insulin to someone on the list who uses the same, and will send them at my own expense (FedEx or whatever works best). Just want to ensure these will be used and not wasted, and is a small way to say thanks for all the great information I've received and so much I've learned from being on the list. ACTRAPID HM Penfill (5x3 100iu/ml) Expiry date: Nov 2001 4 boxes - each containing 5 cartridges 2 cartridges out of the box, but still in original plastic seal These can only be used with NovoPen 3 ULTRATARD HM (100iu/ml) Expiry date: Oct 2001 2 regular vials, both in original boxes These are NOT cartridges for Penfill, so need to use only with regular syringe Unless someone can advise if any problem sending to your country, or if any problem being out of fridge for a few days, believe they would arrive ok. Not sure if I need to mark package "Medical Supplies" or simply "Gift". Rather than replying to the list, please contact me directly on email robertm@... if you or someone you know can use these supplies. Hope you all had a Happy Christmas and wish all a very Healthy New Year! Cheers/Bob
