Guest guest
Winnie, Are you "new" to Betaseron? Yes, this is a side effect from the med. I take Beta too. I just had shot #407 last night and I STILL suffer from large red welts from every shot AND continual hot and cold episodes all day and night every day of the week. But so far my MS has not had major attacks...just minor flares. Hang in there, your doc will hopefully guide you in the right direction and have you on the correct shot that works good with you. Sometimes the side effect just take time to subside. My major flu like symptoms lasted about 2 months then they lessened. Hope this helps, Kim in Nebraska Anybody ever get this one? I am on Beta. Sometimes, not very often, after I take my shot, which I do every other day, I get severe chills, to the point I can't warm up. I shake all over. My husband and son have to help me to bed, where my husband scoots up behind me and his body warmth warms me up and then I fall asleep from exhaustion. It's only happened three or four times. Believe me, that is plenty. My Beta nurse tells me it's another form of the flu like symptoms customary with Beta. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? winnie
Guest guest
Hi Kim: Been on Beta since Dec., 2002. I had major flu like symptoms in the beginning of my Beta therapy. Lasted till about March, 2003. I've only had the chills like that three or four times, but Kim, it is terrible. I have never been that cold in my entire life. I get so cold I can barely move. Like you, have had no major or minor exacerbations since I started on Beta. I just feel the same though, no better either. I know I'm not supposed to feel better, just no worse, but...well, you know. We are a very active family. We have two very sports active teenage boys. is 16, is 14. Our oldest got his temporary license last month, and it's a ball, truly. His brother is quickly coming up the rear. I want to be able to help to teach them both how to drive, be at the rest of their sporting events, and WALK down the aisle when they get married. Sorry for rambling on so. Thanks for listening. (pity party time) winnie take Beta too.
