Finger nails

Update...I went to the Dr. before Christmas and she ruled out RA. My joint

flexibility is good. My neck is no longer bothering me which is such a relief.

The only symptoms I have right now are lethary, dyshidrotic eczema and my nails

are a blotchy red colour. I guess my nails are the biggest concern right now.

I'm hoping this will soon pass just like many of the other symptoms. I do feel a

hell of a lot better, more energy, less joint pain, but boy oh boy, if I don't

rest up and over do things...I certainly pay for it. I found Christmas to be

completely exhausting. I rested up for most of it but managed to get out for a

short ski holiday. Didn't ski aggressively, only half days and stuck mainly to

the green runs since I was with my son. However, I have been drained this past

week and have only felt somewhat normal today.

I am interested in the whole probiotic/immune support info. Since I'm on a plant

based diet, I no longer consume diary products like yogurt. I do consume tempeh

and miso, but not on a daily basis. Perhaps I should start taking a probiotic

supplement. Any ideas?? Also, any info regarding my finger nail issue would be

greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Dawn

Hi Dawn,I use Dr. Ohhiras Probiotics 12 plus. Also I have recently gone through a parasite protocol and that made a HUGE difference in my skin.Have you ever been tested for parasites? I know that sounds gross, but there has been a proliferation of bacteria and parasites in foods and water. That is why it is so important to wash our veggies, hands etc.Since December 13th I have been doing a combination of Nature's sunshine products via a local biological terrain technician, who helped me about five years ago when I had candida. He discovered that I had a proliferation of parasites. I had two very nasty EB lumps on my shins for about 3 months that just wouldn't go away. After two weeks on his protocol they vanished. Which got me researching and thinking about the possibility of parasites/bacteria overload with EN. Parasites travel everywhere in the body and love to cause numerous health problems.Anyway, since doing Artemisia Combination, Pau D'Arco, DHA and Psyllium Hull with the probiotics my skin looks great. No trace of EN.I actually went for a follow up today and he suggested that when I am finished with the parasite program to start a bacteria program which only takes ten days to complete. The parasite program lasts longer because parasites are prolific breeders and survivors. I am attaching a cut and paste from some research I found on probiotics and our ailment. I think it is very interesting to research all the overgrowth bacteria and yeasts as a lot of times it connects with EN. Parasites, too have been associated with EN. All this has been new to me in my 30 something years of having EN. But after having such amazing results from following the protocol we are excited to see what happens when doing the entire program for parasites and bacteria/yeast removal. Wishing you wellness.http://www.holisticmed.com/detox/dtx-probio.txt Negative Health Affects From Loss of Probiotics

-----------------------------------------------

- Lack of reciculation of female hormones such as estrogen.

- Overgrowth of detrimental, disease-causing bacteria and yeasts

such as Clostridium dificile, Candida albicans, Staphylococcus

aureus, E. coli, Yersinia enterocolitica, etc.

- Production of endotoxins in the GI Tract contributing to lupus

erythematosus, psoriasis and other skin conditions, and

pancreatitis (to mention just a few).

- Allows partially digested proteins to enter the bloodstream

contributing to eczema, nervous system disorders, rheumatoid

arthritis, and a variety of immune system disorders.

- GI tract problems such as leaky bowel syndrome, ulcerative

colitis, IBS, etc. are contributed to by loss of probiotics and

appearance of detrimental bacteria.

- Specific strains of detrimental bacteria may cause health

problems. For example, E. coli may lead to problems with

insulin and blood sugar function. Yersinia enterocolitica

produces substances which cause the over-production of thyroid

hormone. This detrimental bacteria can also contribute to

autoimmune diseases.

Thanks, for the info. I'll look into it.

Any ideas about my fingernails? Is this issue common with EN?

TIA

Gosh, considering I've just spent four days at a mountain ski resort, you'd

think I'd be able to answer that question. I really can't say...so not being

obvious, I suppose my answer is no. The bottom (white part) of my nail (on some

fingers) are creeping up the nail bed slightly. Kind of reminds me of something

fungal. They do get tender from time to time, and naturally I've been more

delicate with them.

What would pain in cold weather indicate?

Thanks,

Dawn
