I often wonder why they never think that hormones do not impact QOL as

much as surgery or radiation. Seems that for some men the side effects

are worse.

Older men with non-aggressive prostate cancer may fare just as well over

the long-term without aggressive treatment as with it.

The men all had cancer that had not spread beyond the prostate gland.

The men were treated either with hormone therapy or monitored carefully

without treatment. Other, more aggressive treatments for prostate cancer

include surgery and radiation, but these therapies carry serious side

effects such as impotence or incontinence.
