Guest guest
hello everyone , I was a member before when I left because of my studies, and I applied recently online to join the bsa the british association for stammering and I got all these emails on my inbox! I m glad to be back but can anyone tell me if bsa has something to do with the ACT? Id be interested on self groups where people meet up and things like that. Not necessarily but if i can find a group online we can start from there. I ll appreciate any help from anyone on this matter Thank you Attilio
Guest guest
I'm not sure I understand, Attilio, Did you get e-mails from Act for the public by joining the BSA? Sounds odd! Are you asking about live groups for ACT? I'm interested too. What part of the country are you in? Coincidentally while I was at my most ill I had a severe stammer, tics and often suffered from mutism. I think some of it may have been medication-based as before I became ill I had never stammered or ticced. I have been off all medication for a year now after therapy and am doing very well. S. Guest guest
Yes it sounds odd but that is what happened! I was an ACT member before and then i had to suspend it and last week or so I joined the BSA and all of a sudden i was in the ACT group again! It doesn`t matter simply because I believe in this formula,I did read the book"Get out of your mind and get into your life" and I value this dimension of accepting the present etc...etc but I want to find a good speech therapist (Im not that bad though)or a self help group to talk the matter over. Hi Attilio, Serendipity is when someone finds something that they weren't expecting to find. In the simplest of words, it means a "happy accident". So, I simply meant that a "happy accident" happened that you weren't expecting.
