Guest guest
Hi Everyone, One of my major misophonia triggers is the hissy sound of the letter " S " in the female voice. I was thrilled that I was able to watch the entire youtube video of the Today show because the quality was such that the silibance wasn't noticable to me. If I had tried to watch it on TV, I would have had to use close captioning as I always do when I watch television. The show was great. Regards, Elaine PS...I LOVE US !!! Guest guest
I also have the letter S sensitivity, I think it is pretty common. I wish the Today Show and/or the NY Times article had discussed visual triggers as well. This isn't a sound only problem for many of us.To: Soundsensitivity Sent: Thursday, September 8, 2011 3:58 PMSubject: Today show about misophonia Hi Everyone, One of my major misophonia triggers is the hissy sound of the letter "S" in the female voice. Guest guest
Hi Do you have any strategies for coping with the " S " sensitivity? Are you able to listen to the radio or watch TV? Guest guest
I agree! Wiggling toes drives me over the edge. So, thank you for bringing up sensitivity to certain visual stimuli as a factor. > > I also have the letter S sensitivity, I think it is pretty common. I wish the Today Show and/or the NY Times article had discussed visual triggers as well. This isn't a sound only problem for many of us. > > > > ________________________________ > > To: Soundsensitivity > Sent: Thursday, September 8, 2011 3:58 PM > Subject: Today show about misophonia > > >  > Hi Everyone, > > One of my major misophonia triggers is the hissy sound of the letter " S " in the female voice. Guest guest
For me it is only certain people, so when somebody comes on the radio or TV that triggers me I just turn it off or change channels. Obama and Pataki both drive me insane, but most people don't so I can cope. Growing up my mother's 'S's was one of my worst triggers. Guest guest
I agree as well. I have a huge issue with wiggling toes, rubbing feet and basic fidgeting of people - if people cant sit still (quick constant movements). Sometimes the sight of the way someone walks drives me up the wall as well. So I believe that this issue incorporates sound and sight. I agree! Wiggling toes drives me over the edge. So, thank you for bringing up sensitivity to certain visual stimuli as a factor.>> I also have the letter S sensitivity, I think it is pretty common. I wish the Today Show and/or the NY Times article had discussed visual triggers as well. This isn't a sound only problem for many of us.> > > > ________________________________> > To: Soundsensitivity > Sent: Thursday, September 8, 2011 3:58 PM> Subject: Today show about misophonia> > >  > Hi Everyone,> > One of my major misophonia triggers is the hissy sound of the letter "S" in the female voice.
