yes, start with the one pill and you can also do it more slowly ie 1 pill

for four days etc.

Good luck.

Neurontin caused weird sensations for me until I got to a therapeutic dose.

Once I got to that dose, the pain relief I found was wonderful, but it never

made me feel doped.

That said, I stopped taking it after two years because it made me very sick. I

couldn't eat anything without having some kind of gastrointestinal distress.

If you know this will make you unable to function, tell the doctor that you want

something else. There are alternatives, lots of them. I won't take anything that

I know is going to be unacceptable in the long run.  I had a doc who kept

trying

to get me on a specific med that I knew wouldn't be acceptable for me and I kept

saying no. He found me something else. Don't let a doctor bully you into trying

and re-trying something you know you won't be able to stay on. It's a waste of

time.

Oh, and Lyrica is very similar to neurontin/gabapentin, so if he tries to switch

you to that, you might have some of the same issues. Maybe not, but they do act

quite similarly.

Good luck!

Any suggestions?

Hello Jodi,

I'm on Gabapentin for 2 months the first night I took just one pill 100 mg. it

made me really sleep my best and I had no pain from turning and twisting in bed,

I was totally impressed and very happy since my sleeping is very bad usually 3

hours a night then I am awake for hours...

I started real slow taking these pills since I have phobias of taking any kind

of medication, I gradually started taking the meds until I reached 2 pills 3

times a day which took about a month to do it, it really helps but if I take a

long walk or do any kind of exercize these pains in my legs just come right back

so why should I be on it....I am waiting for the doctor to call me I want to get

off of them or just reduce the pills since they do make me sleep better....sorry

to hear you had problems with it....

Sharon
