The most common use is as a flavoring. It is also a ver common ingredient in

muscle rubs.

Often listed as Methyl salicylate.

I use it at a rate of about 2% in my muscle rub.

In aromatherapy they consider it unsafe, however there is no testing or data to

back up the assertion. Cruise your drugstore shelves and you'll see it is used

in a lot of products.

Can anyone give me information about Wintergreen Oil? I am looking for

what

it is used for, usage rates, can it be used neat on the skin or does it

need

to be diluted.

My Father in Law got a sample of this in the mail.

http://www.flexogan.com/prod2.php

He said it works for his Carpol Tunnel like nothing else he has ever tried.

He is 85 and when I looked it up on the web I was shocked at the ingredients.

Marge, what do you think? How can they get away with this?

Medical Ingredients: Camphor 6% W/W, Menthol 6% W/W, and Methyl Salicylate 16%

W/W

first of all, if they are listing " medical ingredients " I hope they have a

drug license...

number two, I have no idea. I wouldn't touch the stuff.

it may immediately reduce the pain, but it has nothing that will do any

long term healing.

there ARE natural products that are safe, gentle, and promote carpal tunnel

healing thru their anti-inflammatory action.

the above formula isn't one of them.

In my quest for info to create a safe & effective arthritis formula,

Deb posted a link for info on Plai or Zingiber cassumunar Roxb. Has

anyone tried this eo? Have you found it to be an effective analgesic

in your experiences? (thanks, Deb!)

And Olga (thanks, Olga!) recommended MSM. Does MSM interact with

eo's in any positive or negative way .... are any eo's recommended to

use in combination with MSM? Or would effectiveness of MSM be

lessened if used in combination with eo's? Any supplier info for MSM

would be appreciated.

Thanks, on behalf of my mom-in-law's knees.
