Guest guest
Hi All! I haven't been on line since Saturday, and it looks like I missed a lot! It's going to be hard to add my two cents in about everything, but I'll try (LOL). I think that the use of wheelchairs and/or scooters is necessary for some, but I think that whenever possible, we need to try and avoid them. There are some of us who do not have a choice in the matter, and must use them at all times. I'm the kind of person who fought pain management for a couple of years figuring if I managed it, I had to have pain. I didn't want pain at all, so management was not an option. Silly me. I'm sure I'll fight the use of scooters/wheelchairs until it's absolutely necessary. That's me, but I have much respect for those of us who need them now. We all know what our limitations are, and must live with them. I'm not sure why, but like a lot of you, my pain level has been very high for the past few days. For those of you who want them, my prayers are with you. We'll get through this somehow. Please, also, remember in your thoughts. She is overwhelmed and needs them. I'm very concerned about her, and I'm trying to stay in touch. I'll let you know how she is when I hear from her. She's asked to be removed from the list for a short time, it's just too much for her to deal with right now. Tracey, I hope you got my post about your wedding dress, I'm sure the only way to make it any more beautiful is to put you in it! I'm hoping you are coping, I know how difficult it's been for you recently. We're here! Anita, I'm glad that you came to us when you needed help. You can be sure that I'm remembering you in my thoughts and prayers. DJ- I know how difficult it must be for you. Having to go back to worse days must be disheartening. But, remember, you did have better days and there are more to follow. It sounds as if you have a wonderful son, and what more could a Mom ask for? I'm glad he keeps you grounded! Hi Ralph! I kinda know how you feel about the too low to get things from a wheelchair. I don't use one, but I'm short, so I'm forever having to ask for help or climb the shelves! I just saw somewhere a " grabber " that I'm going to order for myself. It telescopes out and you can grab things that are out of reach. May look silly, but it's probably less silly than me falling off a shelf reaching for Malomars!! Felice, I hope that your pain has eased. I'm not sure I'm aware of the latest status of a surgeon for you. I hope that you've made some headway with that. I know how frustrating it is to want to alleviate some of the pain and not be able to. I'm sure I've forgotten things I want to say to others, please forgive me (ha ha Deb, I didn't say the S word). I'm at work and my time is limited and I can't reread all of the posts right now. Hope to see you all at chat! Hugs! Jo
Guest guest
Hi , Welcome back. My hubby is the one with PSC and never drinks. His Doc told him it's not a good idea since the liver is having a hard enough time battling the disease without having something else to fight. However, others may feel differently. He never was a big drinker...just a beer here or there. Gracie

Guest guest
Hi , My Hep told me that I should cut out any alcohol. He said if I want to, have a sip of champagne on New Year's Eve every year, but that is about all he feels is acceptable. Hope that helps. Guest guest
I love this group! It's so positive and inspiring! I am a columnist for a new site launching by a retired podiatrist with some pretty amazing new approaches to the treatment of fibromyalgia. I'm here to learn from all of you! I want to help!
