I asked my husband about this. He said the gauss reading appears huge to those who are unfamiliar with it. It drops off exponentially, that's how it's measured. But the actual amount of power that's being delivered has not changed significantly. He says dropping to 30 gauss is an insignificant change--the coil is still delivering a huge amount of power, plenty enough to go through the entire body with no problem.
