Guest guest
Norma, I know exactly what you mean about wanting to whittle down the number of meds you are taking for BPD! My old psych had me on sooo many when I fired him! I was especially glad to get off the Depakote, since it made me gain so much weight! Topamax, Celexa, and Ambien are the bare bones for me. We tried to do away with the Celexa at one point, but it didn't work, and now I need it for both the BPD and Fibro. I'm grateful that the Topamax and Celexa do double duty though! I'd hate to have to add even MORE meds! I'm assuming that your doctor already knows that there is a fibroid on your left side, since she is assuming this is the source of your pain? I would still insist that she check it out, just to err on the side of caution! You shouldn't devalue your pain, or compare your own health problems with someone else's. You, or I, may have more or less health issues than someone else, but the thing is, we ALL have pain, and whether it's more or less than someone else's, it's still pain. And all of us with Fibro know...it HURTS! I hope you have some luck with your doctor. Keep us posted on how things go with her! Jen
Guest guest
Hi Jo and everyone,I just wanted to add my 2cents worth!I have Fibro and I didn't know it but I think I had it many years before I knew what it was!I can remember one of my sons simply poking me in the arm as he walked by me.He didn't do it hard and I know he wasn't trying to hurt me,but I actually cried! It felt like he was poking my bone!I had a very sensitive body when it came to pain in my muscles, and I have/had a high tolerence for pain, but I hurt so bad at small touches.Eventually I found out I had Fibro from an RA,but that was after years of hurt and I had all the pressure points!I wish Lyrica had worked for me,that would cut out much of my pain!As is often the case with me,it doesn't.Also I go to my RA next Tues. and I will probably be put on insulin, which I am scared to death to find out!I actually have thought about cancelling my appt. so I don't find out,but I'm thinking Bill won't go for that.Easy for him LOL.Anyway, this is much longer than I intended,so good luck to those who are getting good results with Lyrica. love Elly
