Hello All,

In response to 's recent request, I posted this over in the Misophonia

Forum as well... but I thought I'd post it here too in case some of you don't

check that site.

This is my first time posting here. I wanted to share a couple of techniques

that have been helpful so far for me in dealing with this condition. I've had

this 4S/Misophonia thing going on since I was around 10 or so. I am now 41. It

has created a great deal of crippling stress, anxiety, and at times suicidal

thinking and depressive episodes. No need to go into all that--I'm sure you

understand. Currently, I am studying energy healing modalities, energy

psychology, etc., and one of the techniques is called Emotional Freedom

Technique--otherwise known as " Meridian Tapping. "

You can find lots of info online, videos on YouTube, etc., on how to do it.

Basically, I am currently tapping on what I believe may be root traumas or root

energy displacements in my system that make me hyper-sensitive, hyper-reactive,

etc. If nothing else, this technique is very relaxing and makes me feel (at

least somewhat) empowered--like now I have a tool I can use and do not have to

just stay in victim/reactive mode around this issue. Yes, I still feel

traumatized and assaulted by the noises around me, but I can also do this EFT to

release some of the pain and anxiety around it.

I also have a new mantra that I found recently, and the minute I hear one of the

noises that triggers me, I say this (either out loud if I am alone or to myself

if I'm at work or in public)--and I direct this mantra to the person or source

of the noise:

" I love you.

I'm sorry.

Please forgive me.

May all good come to you.

Thank you. "

I know it sounds crazy!! But it kind of creates an " energy reversal " thing that

has given me a definite feeling of release and relief from the agony of just

feeling traumatized.

I hope this helps someone.

Thank you all for being here, and blessings be upon you.
