Guest guest
Sundra, Im 43 , my symptoms i think started last year or sooner even. The first thing I noticed was my periods began to change last year, one shortlight one, then one long heavy one, continued like this all year. Then the fatigue got worse then ever, depression set in, the real sign for me was really extreme mood swings, like having pms at any time not just before my period. I found I was feeling things emotionally really extreme, then suddenly I cant sleep more then 2 or 3 hours at a time, waking sweating in my chest. Also I began to notice I felt worst for about 2 or 3 weeks at a time, then I had a few weeks that were more manageable. I noticed after months its almost like some kind of cycle, its when I began to suspect it may be peri-menopause.Finally I had enough of the mood swings and went with a list to the doctor. He knew right away what it was. Sundra, I dont know about partial hysterectomys, but Ive heard with hysterectomys you can go into menopause right away. You may want to check it out. --- Sundra Lizana wrote: --------------------------------- I have an extremely dense question. Everyone has been talking about menopause, perimenopause, etc. I had a partial hysterectomy in 1999, but still have my ovaries. The hormones are still working, but I just don't have a monthly and can't get preggers. I've always wondered how on earth I will know when I am perimenopausal, menopausal, postmenopausal etc. I'm 41 years old and will be 42 in October. I've read that with fibromyalgia you can get night sweats. I do get night sweats off and on that cover my upper torso and head. I just wake up sweaty. At one time it happened for quite a few days at once and now it seems like it just happens every now and again. Thanks for any input. Hard to know the way when they took out the roadmap, lol. hugs, Sundra
Guest guest
Peri-menopause is the years leading up to menopause. They say it can last anywhere from 4 to 10 years or more. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
well I don't even think or worry about perimenopause or menopause, it's something that's going to happen and there's nothing you can do about it. Plus being on the pill, I don't even have pms symptoms much less anything else. lol > Peri-menopause is the years leading up to menopause. Mumsy I just started perimenopause. So far I haven't had any hot flashes or any of that stuff. I have night sweats, but I've been getting those for the last 20 years, so I think it has more to do with fibro, or more so BiPolar disorder. When I'm psychotic I can't sleep and I twist and turn and sweat like crazy. Even sleeping pills won't put me out. Seroquel is supposed to help with that, but sometimes nothing seems to work. cyn clmerritt@... " Not bad for my first time with a gun. I shot that sucker right in the gumpy. " -J.
