Guest guest
Deb, yes I do. maybe she is having too much, or too quick. Also maybe she needs to get around a little more. Also feeds need to be watched as wrong foods will aggrevate. When did she last see her doc? When on 02, 24x7, sometimes its easy to just take it all for grannted as standard treatment. But at her age etc, I would insist on at least weekly visits to, or from a doctor. And maybe even ask for a nurse to visit couple of times a week. But really at 90, and on 02, 24x7. I would not let this go. She will eventually begin to feel so ill, she will stop eating etc, or LOSE appetite. Just when she needs the small but nourishing foods, drinks etc. Probably at her age, too, she isn,t drinking enough fluids. Upping her fluids could help the nausea, as will dry, biscuits,( no butter) bread with filling but little butter etc, bland foods. rice, sago, pasta jelly. All much easier to tolerate when nauseaus. good luck. Hugs sandyCarer/ Consumer Representative Central Area, Mental Health Clinical network. "Sec/ Co -ord HBCAG & GEMS. Re: Digest Number 2094 Posted by: "sandy taylor" sillysandy82@... sandywho82 Wed Jun 20, 2007 7:01 pm (PST) Deb, I was on 02 for 6 years, 24x7.Many years ago now,i moved to Q, land and after 6 months here didn,t need to have oxygen for 24x7, then gradually really didn,t need it at home.I was ill the first few weeks, but it wore off.Up till 2 years ago, I nursed 2 older people on 02 24x7, and previous to that nursed my mum, who also was on 02.till she passed away, all these oldies needed something for nausea.Motilium, was what they all found better than maxalon. There is another new one out now, that seems to be even better.I can find out what it is, because I have another family member using 02 daily.many do suffer upset tummy first thing in the morning, on getting up.I suppose when i look back I was ill, like morning sickness when I got up to use loo each time after round 2am.had to have med with dry biscuit before I put my feet to floor.Hope this helps a little.SandyCarer/ Consumer Representative Central Area, Mental Health Clinical network.
