Guest guest
Hi Everyone,It just sailed right past me. Our EN Group was started 7 yrs. ago on July 17, 2003. We are now 7 years old, and one of the largest health support groups in Yahoo's family.Who would have thought that we would grow to over 2,500 combined EN and PG members worldwide? We have our EN Research Fund set up with NORD [national org. for rare disorders] , a most respected non profit org that helps fund research grants for thousands of rare disorders. We are set up to earn research money by using the GoodSearch search engine and the GoodShop website by entering "erythema nodosum" when we go there. We have over 30 "cured members" and all found their cures differently. And on a personal note, after 41 long years of living with EN I went into a long remission 2 years ago and have no signs of recurrence. Our EN Group still has many of our founding members, but most of you are not. Those early days were really exciting. The few of us who found each other were so optimistic and sure we could figure this out by comparing notes. We were innocent. And every bit of info we found was a treasure. Now we are up to date on everything that is known about EN. Sadly that is not enough. We need to find out more, especially for those who are called "idiopathic". Idiopathic means no trigger has been identified. Not that it doesn't exist, just that it has not been found. And that is the first step to recovery...find the trigger and then treat it. The list of triggers keep growing. But the list of treatments is short . And the treatments are not without side-effects, some pretty awful. I don't know what the next 7 years will bring. I sincerely hope that research [either funded by ourselves or others] finds treatments and an eventual universal cure. We all deserve to live our lives without pain dogging our every step and the other symptoms that make EN so much more than just a "rash".Wishing us all a Happy 7th Anniversary!
