Guest guest Posted November 17, 2004 Report Share Posted November 17, 2004 Hi, As a refresher...my husband was advised of an abnormaly high (3) result of a cPSA test done at MD Cancer Center. This didn't seem right when compared to the past (10 years)of PSA test results from the Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. which ranged from .5 to 1.1. So we went to a Urologist who repeated the regular PSA test and DRE. The nurse called today saying Kurt's risk factor for prostate cancer is very low... 1%.....his PSA was 1.9...What a relief!!!!!!!! Since I am still learning about PRca...and please forgive my ignorance here...does the 1.9 mean he's free and clear of prostate cancer? Is it the antigen itself that makes that number go up? I was interested to read about 40 some different types of PRca...as in my husband's lymphoma...there's between 30 and 40 different types of Lymphoma too....interesting. Again, I thank all of you for helping me in the past two weeks...I now know more than I did back then and I hope to learn more. Our stress level went down some this afternoon....
