Guest guest
I had a good appt with my GP yesterday. Got my B 12 shot and he was segueing into telling me he'd referred me to a neuro and I pointed out I'd already gotten the letter with the appt last Thursday. He was apologetic and very surprised the letter had already come, and especially surprised it was as soon as August which in the Irish public health is considered urgent, he tells me (can you imagine if it was a tumor or something, my god!!). He asked if anything else had happened, I told him what was up, and he rechecked my eyes (and laughed at my joke which I think is good, I'm not big on drs but I think he's pretty good). I asked him straight up what are we looking for and he said he doesn't think it's a tumor, stoke or Huntington's. I asked if there was any chance it's just nothing or related to the B 12. He told me it is definitely something and he thinks it's most likely MS. he then went on to tell me what the treatment was going to be (shots once a week. Would that be avonex?) and that (blahblahblah are we really talking about this confusion) something something progressive, at 20...I think he was telling me it was good to be 33 and have this come up rather than younger. The way we left it was with the above info and to call if anything else happens between now and my next appt. Since he didn't tell me he was making the neuro appt in the first place, I don't know if he's going to get any other wheels turning to try to hurry up the neuro and get treatment started, otherwise the neuro appt is in August. I know misdx's happen but I don't suppose the say MS lightly or start in on specifics of shots and so forth.
