Guest guest
Thanks for the link, Laurie. Really interesting, and makes me wish so much to be much younger and in for that sort of challenge. But also fun to know about others doing something like that. W. PS Glad someone agrees with me about the bird feeder thing. Boston Marathon Show Did anyone else catch the show on the Boston Marathon the other day onpublic television? It was really neat.http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/marathon/several people got together with the help of Nova and trained for themarathon. and all but a woman who's diabetes caused her to endureunhealable stress fractures made it through the finish line. It makesme wonder if doctors are stressing nutrition and exercise enough totype 1 patients. I know the body doesn't metabolize certain nutrientsproperly when you have type 1. My friend is on special vitaminsbalanced just for type 1 diabetes.I have a friend who's doctor was just horrible about advising himabout his diabetes. When his doctor retired, he finally startedgetting some great advice about fitness and nutrition. I really feel for the woman who had to drop out of the race. She saysshe's doing great with her fitness, I sure hope the doctors found away to get those stress fractures to heal. She's my age and it'sscarey to think how young you can be when type 1 diabetes startstaking it's toll on your body. anyway, i thought the show was great. laurie
