Guest guest
Hi All. I am new and been a pain patient for going on 6 years now. I had a wonderful doc who moved away on me, now am left with his refferal who has turned out to be a total nightmare. After 5 years of being totally self-sufficient and keeping pain at 6 (bad days) or less this doc decides out of the blue to take me off my meds completely with no recourse as to what to do about the PAIN? Unbelievable but true. I need to find aother doc who will look at my records and see what has been for the past 5 years and keep me on the schedule that has given me life. I was bedridden for 2 years before starting my meds and now I cannot believe this doc is taking them away. Anyhow, I have mostly musculoskeletal problems along with Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis which is compounding bad back, knees-then recently told I have RSD in my legs. Needless to say walking is extremely painful even with my 3 point walker. If anyone out there knows of a good doc somewhere in Florida, hopefully central east coast area could you let me know?? I have been at wits end, and now with the pain levels returning as they are I find it really difficult to even think clearly let along be able to find another doc. I live alone since my son was killed in auto accident in 2001 so I really need to be able to function enough to take care of myself. Thanks to anyone who has any help for me, Chris-Daytona area
Guest guest
Hi This is just unbelievable. I don't see how a doctor can do something like take you off all your meds and be done with it. That has always been my fear. I don't live in Florida so I can't help you there. Just wanted to let you know I'm outraged for you. It takes us a long time to get to a point where we are comfortable and able to have some type of life and then to pull that all away is awful. I hope you find some help soon. The other way to go is to get meds online. I have done it a few times. It can be expensive but if I don't have the medication I can't function. I dont see how any doc can just stop a patient who has been on these types of drugs just like that, wont you go thru withdrawal symptoms..isnt it dangerous? I dont understand what that jerk was thinking at all. janine
Guest guest
Janie, I just posted I have found a new doc(Thank God)-but the jerk I was seeing took me only because he was a friend of my previous doc ,he is a nuerologist and made it very clear he was not a pain doc. He totally just didnt care and I truly believe he was simply trying to get rid of me. I do think there is a law whereby I could sue him for his actions, but honestly since I had been to see him for about 7 months I do not want him to be putting on my record things that weren't so--I say this only because I know he would do it. He had the gall to talk to me like a drug addict off the street over the phone (no witnesses) one day and I never heard of a doctor speaking to a patient in such language. I mean it is a long story but now when someone posts about a doc that treats them like a drug addict I do know it does happen. I simply cannot believe this man was issued a doctor's license. He always made it apparent how busy he was, how he was a specialist (nuerologist), and he charged almost 3 x's as much as my previous 2 docs. I don't know if I will file anything against him-my friend says I should, she went in my last 2 visits just to tell him how I was in such terrible pain ,etc. Well, all I can say is everyone look out for these types of docs and if they start out treating you like you are a nuisance (sp) find another right away so you don't need to go through what I have these past 7 months. Thanks for the concern-I wouldn't believe it either if I hadn't been through it... It is terrible those of us in pain have to endure such things just attempting to have some norm alcy back to our lives. We cannot function as it is then idiots like him pull their sadistic power trips on us leaving us unable to do anything. Ugh-thanks again, Chris-FL
