Guest guest
Charlie is a kitten I've been working with for about 3-4 weeks. He was brought to me after a dog used him as a play toy. He was paralyzed in the rear legs. At the time I could not see any abnormalities on x-ray, but thought I felt his T-L junction " snap " back into place. I could not elicit any deep pain. But we decided to give him a little time since he's so young. See the videos for his progress.I'm really happy that he is getting some more normal movement back, but I have two concerns. He has not been urinating on his own, although, he will urinate with stimulation as you would do with a 1-2 week old kitten, his bladder can be expressed, and recently there has been urine wetness on his rear legs, but nothing in a puddle in the litter box. I have tried phenoxybenzamine and bethanechol for a short time. He has had acupuncture treatments and is currently getting saw palmetto from the acupuncturist. My other concern is the rear leg crossing that is interfering with his ability to walk. I'd like some ideas what I can do to help correct this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tnzDU1pBzQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlyxKZeG8JE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9l64LTQYGYhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81ed5PNA80o -- Christie Carlo, DVM, CCRT
