What if supplemental progesterone isn't really bioidentical?

The theory that supplemental progesterone is replacing the "physiologic" levels we had when we were younger isn't working. Especially after 45 or so. Supplemental P seems to turn into Satan for so many of us.

Why is that?

This makes me question the whole notion of bioidentical. How can it be bioidentical? It isn't even "biosimilar."

Just because something has the "same molecular structure" doesn't seem good enough. Or is exogenous progesterone transformed into something else after we reach a certain age?

Dr. Formby, we need you. :)
