Guest guest
Hello All, My name is and I am 32 years old. I live in Texas just north of Houston. I have been married to my Soul Mate for 11 years and we have 3 beautiful boys. Austin is 11, Christian and (fraternal twins) are 8. I have never had a weight problem in my life until after giving birth to Children. After having the twins 8 years ago was when the weight really started to pile on. I believe it is due to the stress of them being so premature, post partum depression, and then not long later finding out one of my twins was Autistic. Ever since they were born I have focused my energies wholly on them and really let myself go. Today I am overweight, depressed, borderline diabetic and generally unhappy with my body. I smoke, occasionally drink, and most of what I put in my body for fuel comes from a box. Not a good way to live. I purchased the Body For Life book approximately two years ago. At that time it just seemed " too restrictive " to me and the bodies in the pages seemed unattainable. (How could I go from 190 pounds and 41% body fat to thin and muscular in 12 weeks??)Really I think I just wasn't ready at that point. About 3 weeks ago I embarked on a Beachbody Program called Power 90. I am now 3 weeks into the program and horribly bored, and uninspired with the results I am getting. I was cleaning out some shelves in my office about 2 days ago when I ran across the Body For Life book on my shelf. The moment I saw Bill's face on the cover I felt like he spoke directly to me. " Are you ready now? " It was downright creepy. I have read the book twice in two days, purchased the Champions Body for Life book, Eating For Life, and the Success Journal, and already planned my first weeks worth of workouts and meals. I just feel like there is something " different " inside of me this time. I am planning on starting my Challenge on June 30, 2008. I am going to start the eating program sooner though. And may do some of the workouts sooner just to try them on for size. I am lucky to have a pretty good Gym setup here at my home so I don't have to go to a real gym. I DO have a few questions though. 1. I noticed that there are a lot of WONDERFUL recipes in the Eating For Life cookbook that contain foods that are not on the authorized foods list. Should I use these recipes on " cheat " days? 2. How many of you actually USE your cheat days? 3. Is working your abdominals 2-3 times a week enough to see the results they show in the Before and after photos? 4. Do you have to use the Bars and Shakes? I have planned my menus based on only whole foods and would really like to give totally clean eating a try. 5. Anyone used any of the " supplements " In the Champions for Life book in the back they have the supplements listed. Do any of you women use the muscle armor or athletes defense for recovery? What about Thermodynamx? Ok.I'll stop rambling now.Great to have found you guys. I hope to make lots of new friends here!
