Guest guest
With symptoms like that, I'd head to the nearest ER immediately!! So many of the symptoms you cited sound like strokes!! Don't wait to get through to your doctor - go to the ER. If it's determined you aren't having strokes, then you are obviously having severe migraines and migraine variants (flashing lights etc.) I hope you get to the bottom of the problem soon. Rita Hi again OK, sorry to pop in and out; it's been a rough week. I signed back up onto this list after having been gone for a few months. Last summer I started to wonder about some symptoms I'd been having, so I got on this list to get some more information about MS (which I did- thanks so much!). In August I also did some research on aspartame poisoning, and went off it altogether after checking with my doctor (who thought it was a good idea). This was a good move. I felt a lot better pretty quickly, and the only thing I had left were the occasional migraines I get. So, fast-forward to last Friday. I woke up with a migraine, went back to bed (my husband got the kids to school- he's so great). This was the worst migraine I've had in recent memory, vision problems, numbness, lots of vomiting, and it lasted all day long, even after I took medication. Saturday I was not recovered, I was totally wrung out, I felt like I had run a marathon the day before. Sunday morning, I get up to try to get ready for church, I get hit by another migraine, I'm out for the day again. Monday I feel a little like myself and try to go to work (I teach at a college), but it's all I can do to last until my afternoon class. I go home and collapse, sleep for a few hours, get up for a few hours, and get slammed by another migraine. Tuesday I taught my afternoon class, which was fortunately only a small seminar, because then I had to go home again (skipping a faculty meeting). The rest of the week has been like this- I was exhausted and achy all over, and kept seeing weird flashes and shadows out of the corners of my eyes. No more migraines, but different sorts of headaches than I've had before. I feel somewhat better today, but not entirely myself. I've never had anything like this that lasted a week and had me so worn out. I'm usually a pretty energetic and intense person, but not recently. I'm trying to get in to see my doctor, but haven't been able to get through yet. So, I thought I'd hang out here for awhile in the meantime and see what y'all think. Thanks for welcoming me back. Guest guest
I wondered about that myself, but I don't think it's strokes. Of course, the only thing I have to go on is that a doctor once told me that my pupils would dilate unevenly if it were a stroke, and they weren't doing that. Guest guest
Not true!! That's not always a symptom. Rita Re: Hi again I wondered about that myself, but I don't think it's strokes. Guest guest
Strider Im 46 and had 2 strokes. I did have a dyslexia type of thing going on, but thats not all. I had the numbness on my right side, headache, I still have a loud high voltage ringing in my ears(Im just glad its not voices lol) All of my stroke symtoms, were about the same as MS symtoms. I just thought I was having a relapse. I still dont know for sure if I have MS or not, or if it was the strokes. But my Dr still treats it as MS. But no shots or anything.I think it helps on all the tests I have with the insurance company. I have some type of test MRI etc about every 3 months. The original headache in the back of my head behind my ear, when I first went to the Er could have been a stroke. It lasted about a week and a half. I went to the Er on a Monday and it was still so bad on Wed I had to go back. thats when they done the spinal tap. None of my MRIs say i have MS yet. But they do have 2 strokes on them. Its two white spots right over my left eye about the size of a dime, maybe a lil smaller. So there can be lots of different symtoms with a stroke. Just like with MS. Good Luck. Love and hugsPam
