That is interesting about the Crohn’s. How long have you had your diagnosis of that?

I’ve posted before about my story on here, but briefly I had been very close to gluten free for years and years just by virtue of how I like to eat. I started a new job, but was still sticking to my usual ways of eating, although was using some restaurant salads, usually no dressing, throwing out the bread and croutons, etc. Anyway, my experience with EN came a few weeks into that new job. It was scary and upsetting to say the least, I was getting very debilitated , very rapidly and my hands and wrists were affected in addition to my legs, far as the joints go. Anyway, even though I was already nearly gluten free, I decided to go completely 100% gluten free, never a bite, etc. and have never looked back. I have had no recurrence of the EN. My EN happened last September, so I am coming upon a year of being free from it.

I have a family history of autoimmune disease through my mom. Her mom did not have any, but her grandmother had RA, my mom does not, she has severe plaque psoriasis since her 20’s. (she had a lot of joint issues in her 40’s, but then that all healed up and just her plaque psoriasis remains). I don’t know enough about RA to know if she has some overlap there of both or not. She is close to 80 now and very active and in excellent health. She is used to her skin situation. She has always been very health focused and careful in her eating, so it was hard on her when she had so many joint issues 40 years ago.

Do you know of any family history of autoimmune disorder’s?
